Closing!

Thank you to all the students and teachers who participated in the Despereaux blog!  Together we had fun, we read a great book, and we saved the life of a little mouse destined to die a horrible death.  Please comment on this activity and how we can improve it in the future.  Have a great summer!

Week 4

Imagine you have broken a rule and have been banished from your community.  What would you miss most?  If it meant you could return to the community, would you say you were sorry, even if you felt you have done nothing wrong?

Week 3

What does Boticelli tell Roscuro will happen if he goes up into the light?  Was his prediction accurate?

Visitor

After weeks of solitary captivity, Despereaux will finally be rescued from his dark cell in the back of the pet store.  He will be placed in a comfortable and colorful cage where he will finally feel safe.  Come by the library on Wednesday so you can meet him and say hello!

Week 2

What hurt Despereaux the most as he listened to his death sentence by the Mouse Council?  How could he have avoided the sentence?  Why didn’t he?

Week 1 :

Why do Despereaux’s relatives think there is something wrong with him?

Hello Rawlinson!!

Welcome to the Despereaux Blog! This special communication tool will allow Rawlinson Patriots to share our comments and ideas about the book as well as the strategy to complete our rescue mission.

Every year thousands of innocent rats and mice are bred or captured to be sold as snake food. These little rodents deserve better and Rawlinson students are ready to assist! Together we have decided to save the life of a little mouse named Despereaux. By reading The Tale of Despereaux as a school we hope to be able to provide our little friend with a better life as a pet instead of pet food. Books and bracelets are now on sale in the library for five dollars.

Every week we will post a new question or prompt. Feel free to comment on the prompt or to add comments to a previous post. Since all comments have to be pre-screened, it will take a few hours before they are posted for all to read.
